Once they decided to build their own home, they began focusing on the "resale value" their home would have and wanted to ensure that their home would feature designs that would have broad appeal to future owners balanced by their desire to live comfortably while they owned the home. Both Stuart & Lorna recognized that the cabinetry would be a critical design element and functional aspect of their new home and the experience of Saint Joseph Cabinetry made for a perfect fit to achieve their goals. The kitchen cabinetry features solid wood raised panel doors and drawers with a combination of rich mocha stain and black glaze accented with an oversized custom designed island with a creamy vanilla finish sharply detailed with an umber glaze. To personalize their home, Stuart and Lorna were able to recover two beautifully decorated hand carved wood panels that Saint Joseph was able to have restored, painted and glazed to match the island, then incorporated into the design. Throughout their home, Stuart & Lorna chose to use design elements such as decorative feet, roped columns and reeded molding designs to give the cabinetry in each room of their home a unique and custom look.  In looking back on the project, Stuart and Lorna say they are very happy with their new home. "Even though we had a general contractor, Saint Joseph acted as our liason between us and all the trades, they coordinated the work that needed to be done and in some cases acted as our advocate to make sure the work was done correctly" said Stuart.
