Every kitchen has a story and for Harry and Mary Melick it all started with the island. The Melick’s chose Saint Joseph’s Cabinetry & Design to guide them towards the perfect kitchen and to help them create a functional island.

In their beautiful Yorkville home, the only way to achieve an island was to demolish a few walls and rebuild ceilings. A design by Saint Joseph’s Cabinetry became the perfect solution. Through lots of construction and remodeling, the project was done just in time to host a wedding shower. The functional storage of their kitchen has been increased from a modest twelve cabinets to a generous forty-two cabinets.

Inside the beautiful family home of the Andrzejewski’s you will find handcrafted custom cabinetry from Saint Joseph Cabinetry & Designs. Taking all their needs and wants into account, the designers at Saint Joseph were able to incorporate a functional kitchen space to better accommodate their growing family of eight.

Ann and Rich Cardile came to Saint Joseph Cabinetry during this past winter holiday, with the dream of creating a new updated kitchen. “We wanted to get the OLD out and the NEW in” Ann remembers. “We walked into Saint Joseph’s and were taken care of right away.”

Entertaining is priority for new “Dream House”

At Brian and Tiffany Berkey’s dream house in the White Tail Ridge development near Yorkville walls of windows let light and beautiful views into high-ceilinged rooms designed for friends and fun.

“We like to entertain,” says Tiffany. “We enjoy having friends over.” For this couple, their kitchen had to be not only functional, Tiffany says, but also a gathering place where people will like to “hang out.” It had to be warm and inviting. “We wanted color. All our homes in the past had light colors,” Tiffany says. “Here we have a lot of windows and light, so we wanted rich colors.”

St. Joseph cabinetry featured in 2008 Cavalcade Home

Scott Eckstein from James Scott Custom Builders wanted a new look for the kitchen that would be a part of the home he created for this year’s 2008 Cavalcade of Homes in the Stewart Ridge development off of Heggs Road in southwestern Plainfield.

“This is a style of home we’ve been building for 15 years,” Eckstein explained. “We wanted to completely revamp the kitchen because we added a sunroom off the dinette. We wanted this new kitchen to be something new and unique, that would take advantage of the views off of the sunroom.”

James Scott Custom Builders’ model home Jessica Rae, a four-bedroom four-and-a-half bath tri-level, is one of eight homes showcased in the 2008 Cavalcade, which began June 28 and runs through July 20. This is the James Scott’s eighth entry and seventh year of participation in the annual Cavalcade, which is sponsored by the Northern Illinois Home Builders Association.
